Beretta APX A1 Carry

Introduced at the end of 2021, the Beretta APX A1 Carry semi-automatic pistol is designed as a concealed carry or personal protection option using the patented APX striker-fired platform. The A1 Carry is Beretta’s smallest pistol option in the APX line and is designed to compete with other micro-sized striker-fired 9mm models like the Glock 43x, Sig P365, and Springfield Hellcat.

This handgun model is an updated and refined version of the Beretta APX Carry pistol that Beretta introduced in the U.S. in April of 2019. The A1 Carry model features:

  • An upgraded trigger over the original APX Carry
  • More aggressive slide serrations
  • More aggressive grip stippling
  • A modular red dot optics platform

Like all the Beretta APX pistols, the A1 Carry model utilizes a modular, serialized trigger assembly that can be transitioned from one APX frame to another. Additionally, this pistol model is available in a number of frame colors, including black, desert tan, olive drab, and grey.

Although some of the APX pistol models are available in 9mm and .40 S&W caliber options, the A1 Carry is currently only available in a 9mm configuration. Additionally, each pistol comes with an 8-round magazine (with an extension) and a flush fitting six round magazine.

A few things to note about the A1 Carry:

  • This APX model is NOT equipped with an accessory rail, so you cannot mount a light or laser via a rail.
  • Although the A1 Carry is equipped for a red dot or RMR, the individual plates for specific red dot brands are not included and must be purchased separately.

Overall, the A1 Carry has received favorable reviews as a small, budget-friendly CCW option.

Holsters for Beretta APX A1 Carry

From a holster standpoint, our most popular holster models for the A1 Carry have been inside the waistband models (IWB holster), followed by high-riding OWB belt holsters. Appendix IWB is another popular holster style for this pistol model. Pocket carry might be a little iffy, however, with the right pants, you might be able to carry this APX model in a front pocket holster. Since the A1 Carry was designed for concealment, most any concealed carry holster will work well.
