Ruger LCR 38, 357, 22, 22 WMR with CT Lasergrips

When Ruger engineers developed the Ruger LCR revolver, it was specifically designed with removable grips with the intention of someday being able to utilize an aftermarket laser in the grips. Within a year of the LCR being released to the public, Ruger partnered with Crimson Trace to offer a factory option LCR with Crimson Trace laser grips (Ruger model 5424) as well as the aftermarket option of adding Crimson trace grips to any existing LCR (using Crimson Trace model LG-411).

Technically, the LG-411 model can be added to any hammerless LCR model regardless of the caliber. This has proved to be a popular option, but locating a holster for it can be a challenge.

Here are some of the more common questions we see regarding holster for the Ruger LCR with Crimson Trace lasergrips:

#1 – Do I need a special holster for this gun or will any holster made for a standard Ruger LCR fit?

That’s a tough question to answer as it seems to depend. Some holster models that we’ve seen made for the standard LCR will fit the CT laser models fine and some won’t. It all seems to depend on high high the holster rides up around the cylinder. If it rides really close to the cylinder, that will come into contact with the laser and the weapon won’t fully seat into the holster. Your best best is to look at holsters that are specifically designed to fit an LCR with a CT laser grip.

#2 – Do you have any holsters that will fit an LCR with a Crimson Trace laser grip?

Yes, we do. MTR offers nearly every holster in their line in a version designed to fit an LCR with CT lasergrips.Scroll down below this info to see all the holsters that we offer for this pistol/laser combo.

#3 – I’ve read that some holsters may cause the laser to come on and run the battery down? Do any of the holsters listed below for the LCR with CT grips run the battery down?

Not that we have seen. Since they are specifically made for the LCR with CT lasergrips, the holsters don’t come into contact with the activation tab in the grip.

#4 – I have the newer Ruger LCR in 9mm and I added the Crimson Trace LG-411 to the pistol. I didn’t see my specific LCR model listed in the MTR dropdown menu? Will the holster still fit?

Yes. Ruger engineers were smart enough to make all the LCR models in the different calibers have the same dimensions so it doesn’t matter if you have an LCR in 9mm, 357, or 22 mag, any holster built on an LCR 38 mold with a Crimson Trace lasergrip will fit just fine.

#5 – I don’t have the Crimson Trace Lasergrips on my Ruger LCR, I have the Lasermax CF-LCR under barrel laser. Will your holster for a LCR with CT grips fit it? If not, can you do a holster to fit that?

Unfortunately, there’s quite a bit of difference between Crimson trace laser grips and an under barrel laser. Because of that, the holsters we offer for the LCR with CT laser grips wil only fit that specific weapon and specific lasergrips. Regarding your question about the Lasermax CF-LCR, at this point, we don’t have a holster to fit that set-up, but we are hoping that will change.

#6 - I have an LCR without the laser. Do you carry any holsters for that?

Yes, holsters for a standard Ruger LCR can be seen here.
