    • Beretta

    Established in 1526, Beretta (The formal business name is Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta) is the oldest active firearms manufacturer in business today. The Beretta Company has been owned and operated by the Italian based Beretta family for over 500 years spanning 5 generations of family members.

    Although Beretta has long been Italy’s most prominent firearms maker, the company didn’t have much of a US based following until 1985, when the Beretta 92 pistol was selected as the primary sidearm for the US military. The US military contract put Beretta on the map in the US and led to the introduction of other Beretta pistol models to the US market.

    In addition to the Model 92, Beretta also was successful with a number of 92 based variants, including the 92 Compact, 92 Centurion, Beretta 96, and 96 Centurion models.

    Beretta also expanded their handgun lines into polymer framed models like the Beretta PX4 series, APX series, Nano series, and Pico series of semi-automatic pistols.

    Beretta has also partnered with other brands such as Wilson-Combat and Langdon Tactical to offer co-branded, semi-custom variants of the Beretta 92 series.
