    • Taurus G2s

    The success of the Taurus G2C (G2 Compact) led Taurus to introduce a variant of the G2 pistol family, called the G2s or G2 Slim. Introduced at the 2018 SHOT Show, the G2s is a single stack version of the popular Taurus G2C pistol chamber in either 9mm or .40 caliber.

    The single stack magazine design means that the G2s weighs less than the G2 Compact and offers a thinner grip for shooters with smaller hands. The trade-off of a single stack magazine is a reduced magazine capacity of 7 rounds for the 9mm version and 6 rounds for the .40 caliber.

    The 9mm version was a much more popular seller for Taurus, so they phased out the .40 caliber model in 2019.

    The G2 Slim came in three main configurations:

    (1) A matte black version

    (2) A model with a stainless-steel slide and black polymer frame

    (3) A model with a black slide mated to a FDE colored frame

    The Taurus G2s pistols share the operation controls of other Taurus semi-automatic models, including the G2c, G3, and G3c. In addition to sharing the same operating controls, the G2s also share the same features and operational functions of the G2c series.

    The subcompact size of the G2s makes it an ideal candidate for concealed carry or personal self-defense. From a gun holster perspective, the most popular holster styles for the G2 Slim are IWB and OWB holsters. In terms of top-selling holsters, our best-selling G2 Slim holster models are inside the waistband holsters.

    Although we do receive some requests for pocket holsters to fit the G2s, we’ve always felt that the G2s was a bit large to carry in a front or rear pocket. Therefore, because of its size, we no longer offer pocket holster options for the G2 Slim.

    The G2 Slim pistol works well in a paddle holster, and our top-selling paddle holster for this Taurus pistol is the MTR Custom Paddle Holster. The MTR paddle holster is available as an open-top model or with an optional thumb break for added security.

    Here are some frequently asked questions that we see regarding holsters for the Taurus G2s:

    Do the Taurus G2s and G2c use the same holster?

    The answer to that question depends on the type and style of the specific holster. Technically, the slide on the G2s is slightly thinner than the slide on the G2c. The G2s have a slide that is 1.10 inches wide, while the G2c features a 1.20 inch slide width. However, the slide width difference between the two models is .10 of an inch, which may not cause a fit issue with certain holster styles.

    For the most part, a G2s will fit into a gun holster made for a Taurus G2c.

    Will a holster made for the 9mm version of the G2s pistol also fit the .40 caliber G2s model?

    Since the 9mm and .40 caliber versions of the G2 Slim pistols have the exact dimensions, a .40 caliber model will fit into a holster made for the 9mm model and vice-versa.

    Do you have any magazine carriers made for the smaller Taurus G2 Slim single stack magazines?

    All the mag carrier models listed below are available in a version to fit the single stack Taurus G2s 9mm and .40 caliber magazines.
