First introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1899, the Model 10 revolver was originally called the Hand Ejector Model of 1899, and then renamed the Smith & Wesson Military & Police model. In 1958, S&W converted to using number designations for their revolvers, so this revolver was renamed the Model 10.
The S&W Model 10 is a double-action, six-shot revolver built on S&W’s K revolver frame, and chambered in .38 Special caliber. Throughout its lifespan, the Model 10 has been available in several different barrel lengths, including:
Currently, S&W only offers the Model 10 in a 4-inch configuration, and it's called the S&W Model 10 Classic.

Example of a holster made for a S&W Model 10 with a 4" barrel |
Since the Model 10 is most commonly seen with a 4-inch barrel, it’s not all that popular for concealed carry via inside the waistband (although it can certainly be done). For that reason, our top-selling leather holsters for this revolver series are typically geared towards OWB or belt holsters.
Our best-selling belt holsters for the M10 include the MTR Custom Deluxe Slimline Pancake holster, the MTR Custom Crossdraw holster, and the MTR Belt Scabbard model.
Although this revolver is built on a K frame, it’s not all that heavy, so an MTR Paddle Holster is another viable holster style for this wheelgun.
That being said, if you happen to own a Model 10 in a 2” or 3” barrel, then carrying it inside the waistband probably makes more sense compared to a 4” model. In that scenario, take a look at the MTR Adversary and the MTR Sline Tuckable holsters.
Any of the holsters featured below are available in a configuration to fit a S&W Model 10 in most of the popular barrel lengths. However, since the Model 10 is an S&W K frame, we recommend ordering a S&W K frame in the appropriate barrel length.
