Kel Tec PF9

Introduced to the market in 2006 by Kel-Tec, the PF-9 was marketed as "thinnest and lightest 9mm pistol ever mass produced." Although that title may no longer be accurate, the PF-9 is a lightweight pistol. The concept behind the PF-9 was to take the favorite features of the Kel-Tec P11 and the Kel-Tec P3AT and blend them into a single stack 9mm handgun that would be a perfect fit for the concealed carry market.

The PF-9 only features 6 main components and many of the parts are found in the P-11 and the P3AT series handguns as well. Like most other Kel-Tec handguns, the PF-9 uses a reinforced polymer frame with a steel slide. An unloaded PF-9 weight just 15 ounces, making it ideal for CCW or deep carry situations.

The PF-9 will carry 7+1 9mm rounds, and there are a few aftermarket magazines that will get the overall round count up to 10. Kel-Tec reports that the PF-9 can support +P ammo in limited uses, but not with “continuous use”. The newer PF-9 models come standard with an M-1913 picatinny rail that will accept lights or lasers. This pistol is double action only and features a 5 lb trigger pull.

Many people believe that the PF-9 will fit in a holster made for the P-11, but we haven’t found that to be the case. Even though the internals may be similar, the overall frames are different enough that the PF-9 requires a holster specifically designed it.

Any of the holsters listed below are produced in a version to fit the Kel-Tec PF-9.
