Glock 30

Like the Glock 29, the Glock 30 was also introduced to the market in 1997, and the success of the Glock compact and sub-compact models before it, played a role in it’s design. Chambered in 45 ACP, the G30 is a scaled down version of the larger Glock 21 model. And like the G29, the Glock 30 will also accept magazines from the larger Glock 21 if needed. The overall popularity of the 45ACP round in the USA meant that the G30 was a more successful seller compared to it’s 10mm cousin.

Given the size of the G30 and the power of the 45 ACP, one would expect the Glock 30 handgun to be less than a “soft” shooter. However, thanks to the engineers at Glock, the G30 is actually a very soft shooter, and extremely accurate given it’s size. Thanks to a proprietary telescoping recoil spring and a low bore axis, the Glock 30 is very controllable. Especially when compared to the 10mm Glock 29, the G30 is very comfortable shooter, and is much easier to control. The G30 has minimal muzzle flip and is quick to get back on target. The soft recoil, accuracy, and typical Glock reliability has made the G30 a favorite for law enforcement, home defense, and concealed carry.

The 30 comes standard with a 10 round magazine, but there’s also a 9 round flush fit version that was offered for a few years as well. But, if the standard 9 or 10 round magazines isn’t quite enough for you, try the larger 13 round magazine from the Glock 21. The standard 10 round magazine makes the Glock 30 complaint for capacity restrictive states like NY and MA.

Here are some of the more common questions that we see regarding Glock 30 holsters:

Will the Glock 30 fit in a holster made for the Glock 30S?

Unfortunately, it won’t as the Glock 30S has the slide of a Glock 36, which is much more narrow than the wider Glock 30. Likewise, a Glock 30S won’t fit a holster made for the Glock 30.

Do you carry an ankle holster made for the Glock 30?

The only ankle holster model that we carry for a Glock 30 is the Don Hume H760.

Will a Glock 30 fit in a holster for a Glock 30SF?

The only difference between the 30SF and 30 is the slightly different angle on the grip of the 30SF. That being said, a leather holster made for the Glock 30SF will fit a Glock 30, and vice-versa.

Where are your kydex holster models for the G30?

Since we specialize in leather holsters, we don't offer any kydex holsters for the Glock 30.

Will a holster for a Glock 29 or Glock 29SF fit a Glock 30?
